Entrepreneurship stories - Kiira Vuorinen

We are truly happy to present our first episode of “Entrepreneurship stories” with amazing Kiira Vuorinen! For our entrepreneurship series we will share inspiring stories from young business minded entrepreneurs with courage to pursue their dreams!

Kiira Vuorinen is a business student, professional organiser, the founder of Kiira Organizing and she also works with some of the biggest influencers in Finland.

Tell us about yourself?

My name is Kiira Vuorinen, I’m a second year student in Turku School of Economics. I am writing my bachelor’s thesis and graduating this spring.

I wanted to do my studies a bit faster because I want to be able to fully invest my time in entrepreneurship. I’m majoring in marketing and minoring in entrepreneurship.

I am also a full-time entrepreneur having two different businesses: First, I am working with some bigger lifestyle and fashion influencers: Alexa Dagmar, Linda Juhola and Sofia Ruutu and I mainly do B2B sales.

Second, I do professional organizing for both homes and offices in Helsinki. Organizing is a huge passion of mine.

Introduce your company, what is KIIRA Organizing all about?

Kiira Organizing aims to make people feel calm and relaxed at their living spaces by creating a functional and visually pleasing organization.

In practice, I offer an organizing service: my clients can book planning for optimal storage solutions or for the whole process which then includes the organizing service itself.

Can you remember the moment when you first came up with the idea of KIIRA Organizing?

Yes that was approximately two years ago. My lovely client, Alexa Dagmar, who I could call also my mentor said I should definitely monetize my passion into a service and so I did!

How did you find the courage to build your own business? Did you have any previous experience with entrepreneurship?

I had no experience with entrepreneurship and none of my family members are entrepreneurs. I have always been very ambitious and hard-working so entrepreneurship feels like my thing.

When building my business, I felt like I had nothing to loose so why don’t give it a try. I have to say, putting yourself out there and facing all the possible reactions from other people is not always easy. But when you believe in your idea and keep going even when someone doubts you is what courage really is about.

What challenges did you have to overcome at the beginning of your entrepreneurship journey?

For me the beginning was quite smooth since I had kind hearted contacts who wanted to push my company on their social media platforms and through that my calendar started to get full. Also. I always try to serve my clients as well as possible and my company started to expand by the power of WOM which I really appreciate.

The biggest challenge for me is to get studies out of the way because running your own company takes a lot of time.

.

Can you describe your typical day? How many hours a day do you work on average?

For me every day is very different because I am doing so many different things. Time frame can be from couple of hours to 12 hours. Usually everyday I do some of these things:

  • Planning for clients

  • Meetings with clients

  • Prospecting for B2B sales

  • Answering mails: inquiries etc.

  • Creating or planning content

  • Actual organizing in client’s home

How do you generate new ideas for your business?

I am a very creative person so I have a lot of new ideas coming up all the time. I also listen to my organizing clients and talk about my ideas with Alexa who is like a mentor for me.

Share one or few tips you would give someone starting her own business? Maybe something you would have liked to know in advance?

Don’t plan too much just start doing. A lot of people just talk and think about their ideas but they aren’t actually doing anything to achieve that. The idea has not have to be perfect in order to try it in action.
