WCS x NREP 2023

We are proud to present one of our main partners for this year: NREP. We are very pleased that our successful collaboration continues in 2023.

NREP is an urban investor that seeks to improve the built environment of cities, to the benefit of all stakeholders. NREP takes a sustainable, long-term approach when investing across real estate segments, primarily residential, logistics, care homes and offices. Activities also include green real estate credit solutions as well as investments in climate technologies serving urban environments. The company has invested in more than 10 ‘gigacorns’, climate technology companies with the potential to save gigatons of CO2.

NREP is recognized as a pioneer within the area of sustainability and has committed to achieving a Net Zero investment portfolio by 2028. NREP has more than 600 employees across Europe and 7 million square meters of real estate assets under management across the Nordics and Poland. Altogether, NREP has assets of €19bn under management.

This year, we asked NREP’s team: “What is the greatest achievement of NREP when it comes to improving the standing of women in the company?"

Heli Männistö, a HR Partner at NREP, answered this question :

”We have been successful in attracting and keeping female professionals in the company although both private equity and real estate industries have traditionally had shortage of female talent. Today, NREP’s gender balance is close to 50-50. We have also taken concrete actions to increase equality at the workplace. For example, we renewed our parental leave policy in Finland in the fall and have received a lot of positive feedback from our employees: we pay full salary for four months for all NREPers taking parental leave. By this voluntary practice we support combining work and family life and encourage both parents to enjoy valuable time at home.”
